-_- [16 Sep 2008|08:19pm]
I went to the dentist office today to get my teeth cleaned. I've had the same dental hygienist since I was 10. I walk in and sit down and she starts asking me about college. I told her I'm taking an english class, a math class, medical terminology and PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION!!! OH NO!!! Anyways, it went like this...

Me: "...of relig.."
Dental hygienist: " wait, what class?!"

So, once again, I said "philosophy of religion". She then said " Oh wow you better be careful your professor might turn you into an Atheist". HAH

I said " Oh well I already am one."

She then turned around with her mouth open in shock and said WHY?! HOW?!

This is the silly part....

She then told me "look closely at a flower...how do you believe that 'just appeared'? how can you see a pregnant lady and think that just happened?"

I just looked at her in bewilderment..and then she turns her back to me and sighs "Thats sad"

What in the fuck is she talking about? I am not a sad individual because I am an Atheist. Shit, you should have sen me when I was a Christian. Then she said " The more you learn about science the more you will understand things just don't 'happen'"

Well first off science explains how things happen, they dont just say " The flower appeared" Like, the bible says "Jesus walked on water" Science is more in-depth, so actually I'm not the one who believes things just "happen".

I almost just walked out and said fuck you I don't need my teeth cleaned. What really aggravates me is how surprised she was..I mean if she was an Atheist and a Christian came in and said they were taking a church class, I am pretty positive that the Atheist would just have nodded their head and not have argued with them.

And, if the Atheist did argue I am sure that Christian would have gone to the Dentist and complained. Just saying...

Personally I guess I should have complained but I'm too easy going I guess

Jesus Christ was born of the virgin Mary on December 25th in Bethlehem, his birth was announced by a star in the east, which three kings or magi followed to locate and adorn the new savior. He was a child teacher at 12, at the age of 30 he was baptized by John the Baptist, and thus began his ministry. Jesus had 12 disciples which he traveled about with performing miracles such as healing the sick, walking on water, raising the dead, he was also known as the "King of Kings," the "Son of God," the "Light of the World," the "Alpha and Omega," the "Lamb of God," and many others. After being betrayed by his disciple Judas and sold for 30 pieces of silver, he was crucified, placed in a tomb and after 3 days was resurrected and ascended into Heaven

I never truly understood Christianity, or any religion at that. I feel that a lot of Christians are Christian because they are actually paranoid of society and if they don't have a "Jesus" to pray to, then they will feel as though they have nothing to look forward to or look up to.

They think that if they communicate telepathically with a guy in the sky that everything will work out. Sounds like a bunch of hopefuls giving their hopes up.
